WetSock, by Locutus Codeware
(C) 1996, Locutus Codeware
Ver 2.1
- Fixed the incompatibility problem with the older versions of comctl32.dll
- If WetSock is initiating a dial-up, the timeout conter now starts after
the connection is established.
Ver 2.0
- Added even more cities in US and Canada (Canadian forecasts are not yet
available, sorry). There are over 1300 US locations and over 400 Canadian
locations that WetSock can report on.
- Now forecasts and warnings are shown for your location only. You can also
choose to see Local, Zone or State forecasts. Any or all of them (depending
on the availablility for your area)
- Now uses multiple servers for one location (if available), and will search
for the other server(s) if one fails.
- You can easily choose a midi, wave or avi (sound only) file to play when
there are weather warnings you need to know about.
- An option to override the access port for use with firewalls (no Proxy
support).
- Change the timeout value for those pesky busy servers.
Ver. 1.5b
- Adapted for the changes in the servers
Ver. 1.5a
- Adapted for the changes in the servers
- Added another 126 cities
Ver. 1.5
- Uses new weather servers
- Added more than 350 new locations over USA
- Better multithreaded operation eliminates intermittent program hangs
- Use different and more clear wording for current weather and wind
conditions
- Weather information saved over reboots and other interruptions
- The tray icon blinks a "!" and a sound is played when weather warnings
are in effect
- Display short term and long term forecasts together
- Include forecasts and severe weather warnings for the whole state for
commuters and day travellers
- When using a direct connection, WetSock will check the weather
immediately after starting.
- Automated weather updates are limited to one an hour to prevent
unnecessary load on the servers. The weather service only updates
the reports once an hour.
- For unregistered versions, there is a limit of 3 updates a day.
Ver. 1.2 (not a public release)
- Uses new version check rules for NT 4.0
Ver. 1.1
- Alternate weather information server support added. It should be
more reliable now.
- Long forecast and weather warning messages now gracefully scroll up
- Some message text changes
- setup dialog does not get lost behind other windows anymore
- updated city information. Added 7 new cities
Ver. 1.0
- Initial version
